Summary

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stopped the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train was surprisingly full for the time of the year. But by the morning there was one passenger fewer. An American lay dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside.

Critic reviews

"Need it be said, the little grey cells solve once more the seemingly insoluble. Mrs Christie makes an improbable tale very real, and keeps her readers enthralled and guessing to the end." ( Times Literary Supplement)

Wonderful

If you could sum up Murder on the Orient Express in three words, what would they be?

Captivating, thoughtful, enjoyable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder on the Orient Express?

Mrs. Hubbard - just a quirky character.

What does David Suchet bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Everything. Loved Suchet in the series but hadn't realised his skills in bringing a book to life before. Such a wide variety of accents and voices - really wonderful. Such nuances can easily be missed in the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

That would give too much away.

Any additional comments?

Can't recommend this audio enough. If you love Suchet then you can't go wrong plus this has some subtle but important differences to the TV version.

Delightful!

Old favourite, beautifully read by David Suchet (for many Christie fans, the definitive Poirot). Lovely audio book!

The only real Poirot David Suchet

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder on the Orient Express to be better than the print version?

Yes, because of Suchet. He is the real deal as Hercule Poirot. I have one other audio version of this book, but it does not compare to this one.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder on the Orient Express?

At the end when Poirot Show`s everyone why he is Poirot.

What does David Suchet bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Everything! I first listened to a Hercule Poirot mystery red by David Suchet about one year ago, when I listened to Death on the Nile. I was smiling the whole time listening to the book. Suchet is a great actor, you can really hear it. He brings every character to life in a great way, not just Poirot.

David Suchet.. The one and only Poirot

Brilliant writing by the greatest mystery writer of all time, narrated by the best... David Suchet. This man is a genius. He makes all the characters come to life and hearing the voice of the one and only Poirot is just brilliant!!
