Sean Drummond is a maverick attorney who cloaks his expertise with smart-mouthed self-deprecation and cynicism. One of the Army's most brilliant lawyers, he's also seen his share of infantry fighting, and when a military scandal causes a global outcry, the brass pick Drummond to head the investigation. In a remote war at Europe's center, somebody has committed a cold-blooded massacre - 35 victims shot in the head at close range, execution style. The world media blames a U.S. Special Forces team assigned to the region. But Drummond can't take on faith the testimony of the accused Green Berets who protest their innocence.
Drummond uncovers a vast conspiracy of frightening proportion. And the deeper he probes, the more he discovers how duty, honor, and country can clash - in ways both deadly and heartrending.

Complex, Clever and Compelling!

This is the 2nd Audio book that I have listened to by Brian Haig (of only 3 that I have found converted to audio - I hope that that changes soon, as he's written many more), Sean Drummond is an addictive character. I love his first person narrative and I love the complexities and intricacies of each case that he has to tackle.

I've never watched the TV Series JAG, so I can't compare the stories or the styles, but I feel sure that these novels dig far deeper than each episodic story can do. If you enjoy judiciary intrigue, mystery and back story, then you will love this!

Loved it!

Drummond is a wonderful character, especially as read by Mr. Rubinstein. What a perfect reader for this book! Wry and sarcastic and perfect for the first-person POV. Can't wait until I get another credit so i can listen to the next one!
(And I don't care that Specialist 7 doesn't exist anymore.)
