Publisher's Summary

Antonia Weston has come to the sleepy market town of Amberwood in search of peace and anonymity after a shattering and all-too public tragedy in her life. Shortly after her arrival, a series of disturbing incidents occur eerily echoing the past she is trying to forget. She becomes fascinated by the macabre local history surrounding the disused watermill, Twygrist, and the now vanished Latchkill Asylum. Memories still linger: how no one would pass Latchkill in "the spider light". Someone knows all about Twygrist's darkness, and how to use it in a most horrific way.

Had to keep Listening!

This was an extremely good and creepy book. The suspense hardly ever let up, and the switching back and forth between time zones was not detrimental in any way. Is there going to be a sequel? Yes please....

surprisingly gripping

A good read, found it hard to put down. The first couple of chapters seemed a bit old fashioned and slow, but it soon hotted up!
