Oh Dear, this has not aged well!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The narrator really should have been coached in to moderating his tone and use of language, for me the story seemed to be delivered in a complete monotone.

What could Robert Ludlum have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I remember reading Ludnum at school, remember The Bourne Identity? A brilliant story, turned into a great movie with a good follow-up but this? Yet another "Secret Nazi organisation tries to take over the world" tale. The language is so, so dated and the plot lines are predictable, telegraphed and totally sterotypical of a very old spy-novel writer.

How could the performance have been better?

Rewrite the book using modern language and pump 40,000 volts through the narrator!

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It's one redeeming quality was that it got so bad that I never actually got to the end, I think I had about 11 hours left to suffer!

Story had not aged well

I gave up on this, the story has not aged well. Far too long so it really drags.
