Set in the same dark world as his beloved novel The Last Child, John Hart delivers a stunning vision of a secret world - rarely seen - in this unforgettable audiobook.
It's been 10 years since the events that changed Johnny Merrimon's life and rocked his hometown to the core. Since then, Johnny has fought to maintain his privacy, but books have been written of his exploits; he has fans, groupies. Living alone in the wilderness beyond town, Johnny's only connection to normal life is his old friend, Jack. They're not boys anymore, but the bonds remain. What they shared. What they lost.
But Jack sees danger in the wild places Johnny calls home; he senses darkness and hunger, an intractable intent. Johnny will discuss none of it, but there are the things he knows, the things he can do. A lesser friend might accept such abilities as a gift, but Jack has felt what moves in the swamp: the cold of it, the unspeakable fear.
Building on the world first glimpsed in The Last Child, The Hush is more than an exploration of friendship, persistence, and forgotten power. It takes the listener to unexpected places and reminds us all why John Hart, after five consecutive New York Times best sellers, still warrants acclaim.

Hmm...Good and Bad

I enjoyed many parts of this book but then it spiraled from mystery into very much a fantasy. The Last Child was much better and skimmed the lines of fantasy just enough...This relied on fantasy for much of the plot. If it had been introduced into the story with restraint this would have been a much better book...Towards the end it got ridiculous and then I just couldn't wait for the ending. I do like the two main characters its a shame that this story went off the rails. The narrator was good.

WOW!! Let's discuss thin novel!

First to Audible: Law partner Lesley seduces new associate Jack and based on little else you assign The Hush the genre Legal Thriller? The correct genre is Fantasy: Paranormal and Mystical.

Next: This is the first novel by John Hart I have been able to complete, but only because I considered it a personal challenge.

Finally: The Hush is by far the worst novel I have ever completed.
