Publisher's Summary

At top investment bank Bloomfield Weiss, they teach them to be winners, predators, killer deal-makers. On the bank's training course in New York, Chris and Lenka were part of a close-knit gang of trainees, working and playing hard. When a failed affair within the group sparked a violent confrontation, they covered up its tragic outcome. Ten years later, a helpless Chris watches Lenka's life-blood soak into the snow of a Prague street. With his friend and business partner dead, Chris must fight to keep his company afloat and discover who's behind Lenka's seemingly random, but coolly professional, murder.

The Publishers summary provides a very good description of what this book is about. A little slow to start with - but persevere, its worth it. A slightly unusual storyline; makes it perhaps more interesting and believable. I found it very enjoyable and well worth the 'read'. (I must look out from more books from this chap).

Sort of ran out of steam!

What did you like best about The Predator? What did you like least?

Started brilliantly with good characterization and well constructed plot. I very much like this authors work and this is my third novel of his. He writes so knowledgeably about the shady world of high finance and the unpalatable practices and immorality of some of the inhabitants that you can't fail but to be drawn in by the storyline.

So, all went well until the final third of the book and then it just seemed to me that it was rushed to a conclusion. Suddenly credibility was stretched and although loose ends were tied still felt like a rush job. Such a shame! Still quite a good read though,

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Maybe if the author had taken a little longer over the final third of the book then the story would have held up better to closer scrutiny....and who knows...there could even have been a pretty good follow-up book.

Which character – as performed by Sean Barrett – was your favourite?

He's so good a narrator, how would you choose? There are no singularly stand-out characters in this novel but he makes some of the wholly nauseous, greedy bankers so real that you almost can't take it!

Do you think The Predator needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. This novel reached a conclusion, no loose ends, that's it for me.
