Summary

It's a race against the clock in this tale of danger and intrigue. In the glitzy era of the 1920s, charming armature sleuths, Tommy and Tuppence set out to solve the mysterious disappearance of a client and unravel a mysterious plot involving blackmail, international intrigue, and perhaps even the sinking of the Lusitania.

When labor unrest erupts in England, the situation could turn deadly if a state secret falls into the wrong hands, but Tuppence has no qualms in accepting a job offer to stop that from happening. The job takes her to France for three months, and that's where the story takes a twist.

The country is on the verge of disaster and it will be up to Tommy and Tuppence to solve the mysterious disappearance of Jane Finn and expose a deadly plot, but their success depends on staying alive and remaining one step ahead of the villain.

A Good Story spoiled by the Narration

Would you try another book written by Agatha Christie or narrated by David McCallion?

We are great fans of Agatha Christie and have many of the audiobook versions of her stories. However, I would not buy another with this narrator. We found him slightly fast at times but it was his complete mispronunciations that spoiled the book for us. Is English his first language? The odd one can be forgiven but there were far too many

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tommy for his down to earth, hidden qualities.

How could the performance have been better?

Much better narrator

Did The Secret Adversary inspire you to do anything?

Look for another narrator when purchasing further books

Any additional comments?

Truly awful

Love Agatha Christie , have been a huge fan for decades and have read and listened to practically all her books. This is a truly awful adaptation - only listened to 4 chapters then gave up - couldn't listen to any more. Don't bother wasting a credit on this audiobook:(

The story is a very good listen, kept me riveted and guessing to the last word.
