Top Quality Audiobook

I won't reveal any spoilers here, but it's a must for Peaks fans.
The narration is excellent throughout, with a few familiar voices.

Wow Bob wow

Well ! What a story following a far longer timeline than I anticipated. The historical back story was interesting and relevant and as we grew closer to the time of the series I got more and more excited. I am literally desperate for season 3 now so hurry up 2017!

Excellent whilst watching S3 The Return

Beyond the notations of the records narrated and in which they are classified in this audible book you get a rich story.
One that transports you into real world events and out again.
Reading theories about The Return and listening to The Secret History nourishes the huge appetite for answers in this landmark work.
The last piece of correspondence hints at the mystery of our existence,(without that being a spoiler).
But as revealed in The Return we are like the Dreamer that dreams... this work is a fantastical exploration of events that tell of altered time and space on home ground.
One hopes that the coming "Final Dossier" wraps up The Return as we were left to ponder many questions.

More X Files than Twin Peaks...

Would you listen to The Secret History of Twin Peaks again? Why?

I think I would like to buy the actual book. Not that I didn't enjoy it but a lot of references to dates etc make the Audiobook monotone in nature. I can not criticise the depth of the 'back story', however I feel alienated from the original story and feel that it veers more towards the x files than Twin Peaks. (Not entirely a bad thing as Twin Peaks eaves influenced the X Files!). There are however, many relevant and insightful stories that die hard Twin Peaks fans will surely appreciate.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secret History of Twin Peaks?

I enjoyed the Indian stories.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favourite?

Cooper and Jacobi.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I love the Native Indian back stories. Also Big Eds story was very touching.

Any additional comments?

An in depth back story. Maybe a bit too in depth, depending on your taste. However, the parts relating to the characters we all know are thoroughly engaging. I will read it again near the time of the new series and it has awakened in me a new enthusiasm for the Twin Peaks franchise!

That gum you like is going to come back in style

Essential listening for any Twin Peaks fan. a great fleshing out of the show's mythology (who'd have guessed that the randy old newspaper publisher from season 2 was so pivotal!)

Gets better each time.

I do not usually bother with reviews but as this is the third time I've completed the Secret History Of Twin Peaks I must say it really does add depth and intrigue into the whole Twin Peaks universe.

So many bizarre coincidences and occurrences to mull over and consider, going way way back into American history for the most tenuous of possible links, that somehow all lead to that one location 'Twin Peaks'. You can either absorb and enjoy the narrative or get totally confused, nothing is cut and dry and it's down to the individual to interrupt the information.

Must listen for fans

Like: good performances, interesting framing of the history of the strangest town in America

Dislike: there are interventions from different voices throughout the text. In the reading, there is no need for the narrators to identify themselves with their initials. Listeners will already recognise the voice. It wouldn’t be that much of a problem except the initials sound like someone saying “tee hee” extremely deadpan.

Definite recommendation for fans of the show. You could like it if you’re not a fan, but you’ll get more out of it if i.e. you know where Owl Cave is.

Great for any Twin Peaks fan!

I would highly recommend this for anyone who is a fan of the show. I liked how it would weave in and out of real history and Twin Peaks fictional history and connect them up.
