The Shadow.. A walk down memory lane.

If you could sum up The Shadow in three words, what would they be?

Spooky, fun, nostalgia.

What could Walter Gibson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Nothing. This series is a collection of old radio programs. Nothing could be done to them without eleiminating the nostaligic appeal.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

These are from the golden age of radio and are not designed to be read. Orson Wells IS the shadow and no one else can come close.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No strong reaction, just an interesting look at life so long ago.

Any additional comments?

The stories are flimsy but you buy this for the nostalgia and to get a glimpse of a time long gone. Orson Wells has an amazing voice and could read the phone book and make it work. If you are big on PC then you may have trouble with this series as views were different back then, particularly gender roles. Otherwise, if you love the shadow this is a real treat.
