Always remember that blood is.... When Cameron and Eleanor Sexton arrive home to find their teenage babysitter missing, their immediate concern is for their young daughter.
Detective Sergeant Jessica Daniel is dispatched to find out what's going on, but with all apparently well, she thinks she's been sent on a fool's errand. Soon the teenager's body is discovered in an apparently random house on the other side of Manchester. The puzzle deepens when a journalist points out that someone placed an obituary for him just days before his disappearance.
A string of clues point to a club whose owner has an unhealthy interest in Jessica, but then something happens which makes her question the very core of her beliefs. She is left to turn to the one person she knows she can rely on...but is that trust misplaced?

Another fantastic Jessica story
Both print versions and audio versions have their own merits, I read the eBook first but wanted to listen to Becky Hindley read Jessica again, she does a fantastic Jessica as I know from listening to all the others in the series.
Any other Jessica Daniel title, because they are the only books that could be this good.
This performance by Becky is much the same as all of her other performances, which is to say, absolutely brilliant.
Many a laugh out loud response and a few reactions of irritation at the way Adam and Jessica were keeping secrets from each other. I felt like crying at the end though, simply because it had finished.
Jessica is back in top form in this book, annoying her way around the city, There are some tensions between between Dave and Jessica, also between Adam and Jessica in this story which were irritating and amusing in equal measure.
My favourite chapter would be the Comedy Club with Hugo's magic performance.
- Andromeda's Twin
Hooked on the whole series
