Summary

Shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Adventure Travel Book of the Year 2016.

In November 2015 Sarah Outen completed her five-year, 25,000 mile journey looping the planet by cycling across Europe, Asia and North America and canoeing and kayaking across the North Pacific and most of the North Atlantic.

An incredible adventurer and an inspiration, Sarah has met with devastating catastrophe (losing her rowing boat, Gulliver, after a tropical storm in the Pacific and then Happy Socks before a hurricane hit her on the Atlantic), motivated people she met to do amazing things and encountered unbelievable beauty in the natural world.

This is the story of her adventure and inner journey and a call to action, to redefine your own boundaries, to be courageous and to dare to do.

Absolutely outstanding.

Absolutely loved this book. From the outset I found Sarah's calming voice an absolute pleasure to listen to. I don't believe I have ever had such strong emotions listening to a book before, from the raw fear of being alone for four months on the infinite ocean riding 10 meter waves, to being rescued and saying goodbye to her boat. since listening to this book I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all of Sarah's YouTube videos and encouraging my young children to seek adventure. absolutely outstanding. thank you Sarah.

Heartfelt and inspiring

Sarah takes the listener on such an emotional journey, sharing all the highs and lows of her adventure. Her journey is incredibly inspiring, and tells a beautiful tale of the people, preparation, hardships and joy involved in a trip like no other. Sarah is an excellent narrator, and who better to tell her story than herself. A brilliant listen that I will no doubt come back to time and again when I need some inspiration for my own life!

A truly stoic effort.

This book was interesting from start to finish. The performance was good and delivered by the author themselves. It's an incredible story the kept me listening and engaged throughout, the challenges overcome, the effort given, and even the logistical nightmares faced. The whole expedition was remarkable, and its story has been delivered in a great audiobook.

Good tale of super endurance

If like me you are inspired by others who do the near impossible you will love this.

I like that she narrates herself too. It feels more real.

Not very interesting

A detailed day to day description but not a lot of depth and meaningful content.

Narrator was v dull

Get a better narrator. Whoever this was, was like a zombie. Need excitement and engagement.
