Entertaining story, looking forward to the next book

I really like this book, the story is entertaining with very likeable characters. I am not giving it fives stars because I didn't like the narrator. She reads it like an old lady reading Victorian poetry! Very off putting and weird. I found it distracting and mildly annoying. If the story was a bit less engaging I think I would have abandoned it in the middle. I hope the next book is read by a different person, I don't think I can endure this lady again.

not great

the most non alpha, alpha character I've ever cone across. Author t should not have called her that, made a big production about it and should have just left it to our imagination would have been happy to call her diva princess in my head and left it at that. the food issue again another big production which soon became irritating.
the rest of the characters were vapid to say the least. I would read a book about Lewis though he was about the only character that piqued my interest. the narrator didn't do much for the book I'm sorry to say...would not recommend.

A Fun Read

I did not want the book to end!
1. Jessa Labron grows up literally in a fantasy/paranormal bubble. Werewolves, vampires, dragons, wizards, etc.
2. Her best friends are the Compass quadruplets who are next in line to become rulers.
3. Her father is one of the governing rulers, Jessa is unaware of her mother and twin sister who are introduced into the story at Jessa's great surprise.

We are introduced to the lifestyle and rules governing the paranormal society. The book ends in a cliff hanger.

There is some language and minimal romantic scenarios.

Fun twist on the alt universe fantasy theme

I continue to discover new writers with twists on the classic themes. This is indeed one of those. I appreciated that the main character wasn't an outcast or misunderstood but instead had solid relationships and friends. It was refreshing. I enjoyed this read. I recommend it for those who like the alt universe fantasy theme. Not a difficult read at all but fun.
