On the outer fringe of human-occupied space is the planet Muse, an entire world dedicated and established as a colossal museum - a storehouse of antiquities and relics from the ancient histories of both men and aliens. There, Ian Lotus, a man with his own mysterious past, has chosen to live in deliberate obscurity, harboring secrets that could reshape mankind's destiny.
Now, the impossible has happened: the Chronos Ring has been breached - rendered inert - and Lotus finds himself no longer able to hide in the shadows as he becomes the object of a massive interplanetary manhunt. However, his problems go well beyond simply being the most wanted man in the galaxy. There's also the approaching Parsnaak invasion fleet to deal with, as well as an enigmatic, extra-dimensional being of immense power who, for reasons unknown, wants Lotus dead.

A complex universe full of the possible
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely ! Ian Lotus sure has his hands full in this book. After the Chronos ring is breached he cant hide in his life of obscurity anymore and is thrust in to a crazy whirl wind of sci fi gold. This whole crazy adventure starts because of the Parsnaak and the breach of the defense system that protects humanity for sure but I think the main story here is Ian Lotus and his secret past.He cant Hide in the shadows any longer and humanity needs a hero,so what if that hero is the most wanted men in the system haha. There is action, history, secrets and a view of future politics that is very well written and executed. It is full throttle from the start! I loves how we started the book off on the Parsnaak ship.Sometimes a series feels like it had the potential to be epic. This series feels just like that.It certainly puts a lens on humanity. There are insightful nuggets that I hope pleasantly surprise you as they did me.
Have you listened to any of Mikael Naramore’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I haven't but I would again in a heart beat. Mikael Naramore was superb . His enactment, tempo, and changing speech patterns for each individual Mikael is distinct and engaging. I do not believe the print version is any less compared to the audiobook but I will say Mikael Naramore adds a new dimension to the novel that cannot be appraised enough and would suggest to any reader to give the audio version a try.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I did.I stayed up til 4 am listening is was so enthralling.
Any additional comments?
I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. This review is my honest opinion.

Great action scifi
I really enjoyed this story, the action flows without being over the top. All of the characters are likable without being annoying and I genuinely want to carry on following this series. The narration was great as usual from Mikael Naramore providing distinctive voices without sounding silly.
please note that i was provided a free copy of this audiobook to provide a non-bias review

This is perhaps my new favorite lesser know sci-fi books this year. the narrator kept me intrigued with how fluid he made the story and characters. The plot was fantastic and im dying to get my hands on book 2.
