Summary

India and Matt thought all their problems would come to an end once they found Chronos. But the watch magician brings with him as many questions as answers, and a load of trouble. To fix Matt's magic watch, they must find an old diary that once belonged to a doctor magician murdered decades ago. The hunt drags them into a sordid mystery involving two of London's craft guilds. With old and new enemies determined to stop them, and long-held secrets unearthed, Matt and India must work together better than ever.

But as the reason for India's strangely strong magic is revealed, she wants to draw other magicians into the open, while Matt wants to hide magic to keep her safe.

Her plan backfires. His plan shatters. And danger comes to their door.

Full of surprises, very enjoyable.

Enjoyed it very much. So much so I've bought the next book. Can't wait to solve the mystery.

love it

Loving the Glass and Steele series and this left us on a cliffhanger with regards to their developing relationship.
Yes it can be a bit sickly in parts but aside if that thoroughly enjoyable and can't wait to listen to the next in the series !

Fantastic

I found this latest in the series to be even better than the others. The plot was very good and I always try to work what is going to happen next but could not do it. I cannot wait for the next one.

Not another tale!

Oh c'mon Ms Archer! The heavy breathing/ near death experiences are wearing thin. Finish it please before you sink a good story with likable characters into 'timeless' tedium.

when magic meets crime and romance

Had to stop working to listen to the end. Interesting storyline that leaves an open end to continue in the next book of the series.

Excellent narrator, but I am losing interest in the story

I enjoyed first 3 (boxset), and had high hopes for this one. However I grew weary of the “will they, wont they” and perpetual reminding that their different social status is a barrier to their happiness.
It seems very much like there will be clues a plenty for them to follow to uncover another plot twist etc. but when I just want to skip to the end just to be done with it, I know it is just not keeping me engaged.

I would like to know that everything ends up happy ever after, so I hoped it would all be resolved in book 5. but when I learned this is a series of 13!! I am just not taken enough to wade through another 9 books to find out.

I thought the narrator was really good (needs to improve American accents a little), but otherwise I thought she did very well.

The concept is good and makes you want to know more.

After 4 books I would like to get to the conclusion of the story, but don't know if I can bear the simpering persona that has been given to the main female character it was endearing and of its time in the 1st book but now its just iratating. I wish the author would have grown the character. I may dip back in if I'm on a flight somewhere.
