Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Gerrard Shale's reading turns this magnificent adventure into a thrilling audiobook for fans of all ages.

When Eragon finds a polished stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realises he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself.

Overnight his simple life is shattered and he is thrust into a perilous new world of destiny, magic and power. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds. Can Eragon take up the mantle of the legendary Dragon Riders? The fate of the Empire may rest in his hands....

Gerrard Doyle’s voice...

He’s a great narrator, but I just find his voice for Sephira a little annoying! Sounds like he constantly needs to clear his throat.

Other than that, he did a great narration of one of my favourite books from when I was a lot younger!

What is Saphira's voice

the voice the narrator makes for Saphira is obscene. Saphira speaks through telepathy, not from large vocal chords. no reason for her to sound like a scruffy troll. it makes her character lose her range of emotion and empathy the listener can feel for her. poor performance. would recommend they re record all her dialogue

brilliant book. well read however......

good accents and good variety with voices however arya should be clean crisp and strongly spoken not soft spoken. Saphira should no way in hell have a growly psychic voice. she should wise and elegant with a hint of steel that reflects her ferocity. read all the books multiple times. never ever imagined her to be like that. I think it may be my love of this series which made me continue. excellent book however and although it is a big error on the voice choice. it doesnt detract from the overall story.
