I loved the first two books. So I was extremely disappointed with this book. For seven hours and 41 minutes Gwen whines because she has no memory and is second guessing every one she encounters. Dorian spends his time declaring he does not regret putting Gwen's soul back and will do it again, he cannot live without her, and he does not care that he will/could lose his powers. There is more action hiding Gwen from the NAWC by moving Gwen and company between Aiden's and her apartment. The only fight is when Dorian beats up an assassin sent to kill Gwen. Ironically, that is the event which precipitates this story.
Aiden is only given a cameo appearance and he only says my favorite phase, my Gwen, maybe three times. God I love his voice. They make a joke of the binding between a vampire and a lover. The bind between Gwen and Aiden is as cohesive as oil and water. It seems Stephanie threw Aiden in at the last minute when she realized she left out the verbal banter between Aiden and Dorian.
Come on Gwen needs to grow up about her love issues. Ok so there were lineage issues with the werewolf and granted Aiden was a prick. When both of those men where in book one she was ready to have an organism when she was with either one. Now Dorian can get her hot from across the room.
I am totally disappointed with this book. There is no witch, vampire, or werewolf action. This as a silly romance novel with a cameo of two vampires, a werewolf, two witches, the cat snowball gets a mention and there is an off stage voice of an NAWC agent.
Turn to the last few pages to the only game changer which might effect the next book. I am not going to invest in the next book. It has become to much of a romance book. I am a Aiden fan and Gwen has made Dorian her choice.

After Gwen loses her memory life and death become unbalanced. Magic becomes muddled. Dorian is trying to help Gwen regain her memory. Aiden also returns to help Gwen. They are trying to save her life. Dorian takes her back in time to right a mistake he made. Aiden is convinced that if he turns her into a vampire it will save her life. I enjoyed this series but was disappointed that book number five has not been written leaving the story unfinished.
