Can you fall in love in thirteen hours?
It's her birthday but lonely workaholic Dana Watts is at the office late, drafting a proposal. The very last interruption she expects comes in the form of the most beautiful breasts she has ever seen. These belong to an incredibly hot woman, who is standing in front of her, stripping to music. Laurel Stanley performs strip-o-grams to pay her way through school. She has never encountered a more ungrateful recipient than Dana. The uptight project manager makes it clear that she is furious to be distracted from her work by the "gift" a colleague sent and equally appalled by Laurel's occupation. After Dana is rude and insulting, and insists on escorting Laurel from the building, the two women take an elevator ride that changes everything.
Stuck with each other for thirteen long hours after the elevator breaks down, they discover how wrong first impressions can be and how right two strangers can feel together. Can everything change in less than a day? Dana and Laurel set out to discover if their passionate elevator encounter can mean more in this fast-paced, erotic story of lust, loneliness, fantasy, and desire.

Not really my thing - mostly erotica

Not really my thing:

Okay well, I gathered from the first chapters there would be erotica in the novel which is fine, and I have read many of books which contain such content, but I am a romantic and prefer, character development, turmoil, drama, conflicts and resolution. I also have an attention detail and things which don't make sense bug me, and undermine the prose. So when comparing this novel with the type I like to read, romantic lesfic, I struggled to give this book three stars. Maybe being harsh, but the there were too many character actions which did not fit the described personality traits. It was only hours into the book when the reclusive, relationship shy software manager, who was only interested in getting her project report done, was asking the friendly kind stripper to simulate... Other plot devices did not sit well with my brain, for example report being lost because of a power failure; managers mostly work on laptops laptops have battery, a laptop goes to sleep and keep a laptop running for days. If its a desktop then a software company should have UPS. Okay maybe they don't have USP, and its a desktop, but all word processing applications have auto-save, and file recovery. Okay you can see how my mind works, and I'm being pedantic I know, But it kinda shows how this is not my kind of novel. I might have realized better from the cover of the novel if I had checked goodreads first. Audible had cropped off the top of the picture, so it just shows briefcase and blue jeans. I guess i would have judged the book by its cover more as a erotica then romance if I had seen that.:-)

Pretty good for light lesbian erotica

Would you listen to Thirteen Hours again? Why?

Yes, I think I might have missed something at times when listening, but the story line was sweet. and you don't get that much in lesbian relationships

Who was your favorite character and why?

Laural, she was a confident and strong young lady, who was able to help Dana let go of herself and enjoy life.

What does Alicyn Ames bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was excellent at expressing the characters emotions and voice them

Any additional comments?

this was very light lesbian erotica. It was done tastefully and with a very nice story line. I would read Meghan O'Brian again.

Enjoyable story and exceptional narration

Would you listen to Thirteen Hours again? Why?

Yes, already listened to it repeatedly. Fun story, feel good romance, plenty of sexy times, and lots of humor. Appreciated the author's wink at the reader by having the characters poke fun at the absurdity of their "meet cute" situation. Acknowledging the contrived elevator setting allowed me to just accept and enjoy the unfolding character development. I also enjoyed how the characters talked through their fears rather than going through the standard falling out and reconnecting at the climatic end. Instead this story had a nice evolution throughout and a satisfying conclusion. Would enjoy a sequel to see how the characters continue to grow and handle middle age, etc.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Thirteen Hours?

During the elevator scene, when Dana decided to be brave and honest with herself and Laurel.

Which character – as performed by Alicyn Aimes – was your favorite?

Alicyn Aimes did a wonderful job narrating both main characters. I would like to hear more narration from her but could not find her on Audible or elsewhere.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Dana acknowledging her sexuality.
