In the summer of 2012, Steve Jenkins was contacted by an old friend about adopting a micropiglet. Though he knew his partner, Derek, wouldn't be enthusiastic, he agreed to take the adorable little pig anyway, thinking he could care for her himself. Little did he know, that decision would change his and Derek's lives forever.
It turned out there was nothing "micro" about Esther, and Steve and Derek had actually signed on to raise a full-size commercial pig. Within three years tiny Esther grew to a whopping 600 pounds. After some real growing pains and a lot of pig-size messes, it became clear that Esther needed much more space, so Steve and Derek made another life-changing decision: They bought a farm and opened the Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary, where they could care for Esther and other animals in need.

So heartwarming x
Couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. But I'm so glad I got the audio book version, Listening to Steve saying his,Derek and Esther's story just makes it even more special than it is x

I love this book!!!
Esther’s story is so moving, such humanity comes through in the telling - no joke. Steve narrates with passion, honesty & humor making the book a joy to listen to - I pretty much listened to it in one go. Steve & Derek are an inspiration - little wonder sweet Esther chose them.

After following the Facebook page I was keen to see how the story started. Could not recommend this book highly enough! Endearing, humorous, heartbreaking and touching all at the same time. Wonderful!
What did you like most about Esther the Wonder Pig?
I bought the book because I love Esther and wanted to support the work of her dads. I wasn't expecting it to be an amazing book, but it is the first book I have ever had on audible that I listened to the whole of in one sitting :) made me so happy, thank you!
What about Steve Jenkins’s performance did you like?
Fantastic narrator- it is so important and he did a great job.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The tangible distress of the urine-soaked house and the sobbing dads scrubbing the basement. That moment lead them to true happiness.

Fabulous and kind - how the world SHOULD be.
I discovered Esther The Wonder Pig on Facebook and have become increasingly in awe of the work of Steve and Derek (the Dads) and their Happy Ever Esther farm sanctuary in Canada. This is their story of how it all began. Please listen or read it. It’s great and what they say has made me think long and hard about some of my life decisions.

this will change hearts and minds
the audio version became available whilst I was awaiting my hard copy of the book to arrive in the UK. not my usual format but heck I wanted the whole story. LOVE this story - it has changed my whole world. Esther found her voice through her Dads and their gentle and often hair-raising story is one we can all learn from. unconditional love and respect for all nature.
