Summary

With over six million copies sold in the series and more than 18,650 worldwide five-star reviews, A Shade of Vampire will transport fans of Twilight, The Mortal Instruments, and The Vampire Diaries to a world unlike any other...
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's 17th birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake. A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to The Shade, an enchanted island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.
Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is selected out of hundreds of girls to take up residence in the tree-top harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? Or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

In fairness, it's probably for kids

Five stars if you're 14 I'm guessing. Fancied a vampire yarn like Robin McKinley's Sunshine but this is for youngsters. Who calls a lead man 'Derek'?

Unbelievable

One of the top Audible Audiobooks I have listen to. I love 'The Shade of Vampire' to begin with, but listening to them brings them to life. The narrators to the book justice and why really make you feel like your live the life of Sofia, Derek and Ben.
My favourite part of this audiobook was when Sofia Claremont returns to The Shade to find Derek taking revenge on Ashley because his beloved twin sister had been captured by the hunters.
My Favourite character was Sofia, narrated by "EMMA GALVIN".
Yes, I couldn't stop listening to it. LOVED IT...! x

The perfect book hors-d’oeuvre

This book left me hungry for more of The Shade vampires. It was a small but delectable story that introduces the listener to a whole new take on the typical vampire genre. It’s the perfect sized morsel to build your craving for romance and fantasy.
The narration was outstanding and I have already downloaded book 2.

Hot with out details

This is a new series to me and I have to say I only purchased it because ofZachary Webber. I must admit a quarter of the way through I was hooked. Even though there is no detailed sexual escapades or down right naughtiness described I was truly invested in the characters and their motive‘s. It was hot without being obvious and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. The narrators did a good job. I was a little put off by Sofia and how young her voice sounded but I got over it quickly and can’t imagine anyone else doing that part.
