Summary

The third audiobook in Piper J. Drake's adrenaline-packed True Heroes series.
Sophie's dream is to own and run her own bed-and-breakfast in New Hope. Juggling her day job at Hope's Crossing Kennels, she's working hard on making those dreams a reality. And things are going surprisingly well. Then when something - or, rather, someone - else she's dreamed about for years comes within her reach, she's elated. After months of mixed messages, the roguishly charming Brandon Forte has finally made a move.
Brandon is training dog veteran Haydn for military explosives detection. The last thing on his mind is finding romance with the alluring Sophie. But when the heat between them rises to the explosive level and then buildings around town start going up in flames, Brandon realizes someone has a very dangerous agenda. Brandon will stop at nothing to protect Hope's Crossing Kennels and the woman he's fallen for.

Absolutely Enjoyable

This gifted author knows how to create engrossing stories with true yet realistic heroes, both human and canine. I'm already looking forward to book 4!

I particularly enjoyed the way Brandon and Sophie's relationship grew from childhood friends to adult lovers, based on mutual respect and mature affection.

The plot was an interesting mix of suspense, friendship and romance with some explicit but tasteful sex scenes - no alpha jerks, no passive women and an adorable dog.

Absolute Trust

This was another good story. I hope Ms. Drake plans to continue the series. She certainly set up for future tales. I especially enjoyed Sophie adopting a Cream Point Siamese kitty from the cat cafe, lol. Between the men & the dogs, there was a lot of testosterone floating around, lol. A small dose of estrogen was just what was called for! (Siamese are my favorite breed of cat) it really gave the story a little extra sparkle. 👍
