Summary
Kit Colbana - half breed, assassin, thief, jack of all trades - has a new job: track down the missing ward of one of the local alpha shapeshifters. It should be a piece of cake.
So why is she so nervous? It probably has something to do with the insanity that happens when you deal with shifters - especially sexy ones who come bearing promises of easy jobs and easier money.
Or maybe it's all the other missing kids that Kit discovers while working the case, or the way her gut keeps screaming she's gotten in over her head. Or maybe it's because if she fails - she's dead.
If she can stay just one step ahead, she should be okay. Maybe she'll even live long to collect her fee....

Blade Song
This has a great twist on the shifter, vampire world, where you are not sure who are the good guys and who aren't. Read brilliantly by Maxine Mitchell.

Good
If you like Kate Daniels you will like this one too. The main character is a stubborn brave and stupid. Just the way I like my heroine!

Had a lot of potential
The book had potential but just dragged on. The theme and characters where interesting however it felt like the story kept starting and stopping with details that broke the flow of the story. The narration was a bit annoying almost trying to hard.

Ilona Andrews fans will like protagonist/narrator.
Loved it. I wanted something after finishing Ilona Andrews, but was struggling to find narrators and stories I liked and this has both. The detective element seems to pull together from links that don't always make sense/you aren't given enough clues to guess at, and I wanted more of a twist at the end - plus the baddies motives are unclear at the finale. Good main character, with intriguing internal thoughts on things and lots of other interest to the story world. Easy listening with more than enough to keep me entertained while doing the chores :)

worrying...
Easy enough to listen to if you need something in the background, however not written in a way that is believeable. The dialogue feels forced and is so cheesy. Possibly as this is aimed at a younger audience? Every time Damon called the protagonist "babygirl" I cringed. also, very worrying themes of control and hints of abu5ive romantic relationships with how controlling and forceful Damon is, who she later ends up in a romantic relationship with. We should not be teaching younger audiences that the controlling, possessive dynamic in this relationship is acceptable.

Couldn't finish it
I did try a couple of times to listen to this but just couldn't get on with the the narrator. Plus, the story seemed to be the generic 'woe is me, I'm a half blood (insert supernatural type here) and everyone uses/hates me. Just not my cup of tea I'm afraid, I may have just read too many of the same type of books except they've been done better.
