Summary
It all starts with a girl.... (Because yes, there's always a girl.) Jason Priestley (not that one) has just seen her. They shared an incredible, brief, fleeting moment of deep possibility, somewhere halfway down Charlotte Street. And then, just like that, she was gone - accidentally leaving him holding her old-fashioned, disposable camera, chock-full of undeveloped photos....
And now Jason - ex-teacher, ex-boyfriend, part-time writer and reluctant hero - faces a dilemma: Should he try and track The Girl down? What if she's The One? But that would mean using the only clues he has, which lie untouched in this tatty disposable...
It's funny how things can develop....
Mackenzie Crook is best known for playing Gareth on The Office, a role for which he earned two BAFTA nominations, and Ragetti in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. He also provided his voice and movements to a character in Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin.
Wendy Wason was a regular in several comedy series such as Tittybangbang and The IT Crowd, and she has also appeared in Midsomer Murders. As a comedian, she has also had three successful Edinburgh Festival shows.

So boring
This is the first book I have taken the trouble to review only because I want to save other people from the tedium.

Dull dull dull
Although the book is quite engaging the biggest drawback for me was the narration. It was read with such a monotonous tone that a child could have done better. Some narrators add some depth of feeling to their readings but this was utterly dreadful and in the end puts the listener off listening at all. Please, Mr Crook, don't undertake reading another book.

VERY DISAPPOINTING
I had heard about this book and looked forward to listening to it. Unfortunately I found it dull and unexciting and the narrator sounded as if he was fairly fed up with it too. It was a struggle to keep on listening and i didn't bother to finish it.

Thirsty reader
I loved this book somuch so i have been recommending it to friends. I'm now left with a hole in my life that can surely only be filled by another Danny Wallace or a book similarly good and British. Help!!
Ps buy it, it won't disappoint.

Wonderful
A little slice of listening heaven- a really worthwhile listen that brings together a cavalcade of characters that have nothing to do with each other and everything to do with each other. A very entertaining book with the perfect ending that quite simply leaves you wondering about the main characters future until the last few seconds- great book.

Awful narratiot
The narrator is beyond awful. He has no idea of how to read. He doesn't understand rhythm. He reads the book in a single impassionate voice. Honestly, I could do a better job. How do these people get hired?
I have no idea of this book is good or not. I simply can't stand the poor reading. I have up within 5 minutes.

Slow and gentle, quite entertaining
I understand why some people found this dull, as it is slow, however I like this. And I understand why some people found the narration unexciting, but personally I liked Mackenzie Crook's voice very much - it certainly suited the storyline. I did find that the end of the book was a bit overly-reflective and would have enjoyed a bit more humour in this book.
The author, Danny Wallace has not written many novels so far and his subsequent book, "Who is Tom Ditto" is similar in style and subject matter but slightly faster paced, and therefore I liked it even more.
I look forward to reading any future Danny Wallace novels.
