Summary
Escape to the summer and feel the warmth of Sunday Times best-seller Paige Toon's storytelling.
Daisy has been dumped, unceremoniously jilted. Not by any ordinary guy, no...Daisy has a secret in her past that she won't even tell her best friend, Holly. She's given up on men - and on her own family. But life still has to be lived and where better to recover than as far away from home as possible.
Grabbing a chance to see the world, Daisy packs her bags and joins the team catering to the world's highest-paid, supercharged racing drivers on the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit. From Brazil to Italy, from Melbourne to Monte Carlo, life passes in a dizzying whirlwind. But nothing - and no one - can stop Daisy from falling again...this time for a man who is prepared to risk his life, and his heart, for the sake of speed, danger and ultimate success.

Marred by terrible 'Scottish' accent
This book was so so. It win me over in the end, but was a very familiar story line, although the F1 scene it was set in helped make it a bit different.
The characters are likeable but the narrator's efforts to do all the accents - particularly a Scottish one was quite bad & therefore distracting. Apart from the not so great accents the emotion and performance of the narrator was excellent.
I've enjoyed other Paige Toon books more but perfectly readable for a light holiday light read.

Awful Narration
I had to stop listening to this book purely because the narrators' accents were so awful it was off putting. Particularly her attempt at a Scottish accent! It's a shame as the story line did appear to be quite good. However I didn't make it past chapter 5.

Excellent book, horrendous audiobook
The narrator is appalling at accents, and this book requires a lot of accents. From what I can tell she is American, so does Daisy ok, but her attempt at a Scottish accent for the friend is awful. It is so bad I am struggling to get through it, I can not believe anyone thought it was passable. Her attempt at English is only slightly better, but her German and Portuguese accents are unrecognisable. As there are so many international characters in the book they should have sourced a good narrator, not the cheapest which is what has happened in this case as far as I can see. I am only persevering as I have read the book and love the ending, but would strongly recommed you don't bother as it is so distracting it has ruined the whole book for me. This is no reflection on the written book or any other Paige Toon books, my favourite being the Longest Holiday, which is a lovely audio book.

Love the book hate how it is narrated
This book is one of my favorites. I was so pleased to find it as an audible but the voice and the way the narrator talks ruins it. Buy the book its so much better.

Narration ruins story
I actually had to stop listening!!!
If bad accents wind you up DO NOT listen to this book. I’m genuinely disappointed because I’m sure the story is good.

Fantastic author and story but let down by the narrator
As a huge Paige Toon fan I was thrilled to find this book on Audible. It is a lovely story with twists and turns, not unlike the F1 racing premise. Filled with romance, drama and will they won't they angst. However, from the first minute, I was in a debate as to whether or not to immediately return the book as the narrator was butchering a multitude of accents. The only credible one being the American accent of the main character. In particular the so called attempt at a Scottish accent was so distracting that I could barely concentrate on what she was trying to say.
All in all a great story, but I will be steering clear of any further work from this narrator.

Dreadful Accents!
The Scottish accent here is abysmal! I can’t believe it was allowed to go ahead. It completely put me off the whole recording.

Let down by the awful narration
Great story as always from Paige. Sadly this was let down by the narration, it sounded false and had no feeling, so I couldn't enjoy the book as much as I have the others I have listened to! Such a shame.

Narration put me off
I LOVE this book. I’m a huge Paige Toon fan and have all her books but being a working mum with 3 young kids I don’t always get time to sit and read which is why I love audible. However, the narrator made this really hard to listen too as the accents she does are awful (in particular the Scottish accent). I nearly gave up several times but carried on purely because I knew I loved the booked. Would definitely think twice before getting another book with this narrator.

great story, awful narrator
I really enjoyed the story which was the only reason I kept listening as I'm sorry to say the narrator was terrible. it was like listening to a robot and her accents were so bad it made me cringe
