The pronunciation of the French phrases and names is so bad as to make them unintelligible.
The narrator of the first book in the series was much better.

Badly read with unintelligible French & Latin tags

The reader's accent is so heavy in the quotes that they are unintelligible which obstructs the story. The accent in general feels inappropriate for the story and is certainly an obstacle for US readers. I hope you will find another reader for the other Dunnett books.
