Love Kathleen Brooks books
OMG I love Kathleen Brooks books and I had high hopes for this one. She didn't let me down, this was superb.
This books is about a leading lady not a lead man. Most books are about leading men. This book was different from the start which just had it better in my book!!!
Elle Simpson comes from a poor family. Her family has worked her to get where they are today. Simpson Global is a force to be reckon with in the business world. But something is missing from her world!! Love!!
Drake Charles hides from the media and public in general. It is all to much for him and his family. He made is his money in the communication technology sector. Every year he holds a masquerade ball for the Drake Charles Foundation which is linked with the local Children's Hospital.
Masquerade balls are funny because nobody knows who you are. Surely private life should be private.
Can Elle let her hair down for one night? Can Drake have fun at the ball whilst Phillip does all the work?
Read the book to see. I would recommend this book and the rest of Kathleen Brooks books.

This could be the start of a good series
I enjoyed the simplicity of Kathleen Brooks Bluegrass series. She created engaging characters. She continues with Women of Power. But I was hoping for a little more. The female lead falls oh so fast and the romance is rushed. But I am hoping that book 2 is better. I enjoy the premise of woman taking the lead.
I am not a fan of how Amy McFadden narrates this story. She is just okay and sometimes the female voices a whiny. Steamy not so much.
