Summary
Taryn Malone is stranded, broke, and desperate for help. But even if the sexy bartender she's been eyeing offers her a job for the evening...even if he seduces her with his impossibly intense blue eyes...even if every fiber of her heart tells her to stay with him, she can't. Because Taryn Malone doesn't exist. Jake Callaghan has been running the family's Irish pub for years now. When he sees Taryn standing out alone in the rain, he does what he's been trained to do as a SEAL - he rescues her. It has nothing to do with her full, firm curves, or her loose, golden-blonde hair, or the way she brushes against him that sends lightning bolts through his body. It's just the right thing to do. Really. But both Taryn and Jake are hiding secrets from each other. Dangerous secrets. And neither one of them knows just how dangerous it can be to fall in love. Contains mature themes.

Disappointing and couldn’t finish it
WTF? Instantly decided to be devoted to woman at first glance, incestuous threesomes considered, sex pest brother trying to peek at a naked vulnerable woman whilst she sleeps and this is apparently ok, and unimaginative dialogue, characters and relationships that left me bored. This is just not my bag, and I’m only at chapter 9 of 29. Looking at Goodreads reviews it seems like even more aspects of the book will annoy me before the end so I might quit whilst I’m ahead..

Something Different
Loved how the story line was different to so many others. The male voice was a pleasure to listen to and it kept me engaged all the way through. Great audio.

Didn't like it
I know this was fluff and I started this book with that mindset and tempered expectations but this was bad. The male characters came off as extremely creepy. Terrance seemed less careful for someone who was on the run from someone extremely dangerous. The fact that she didn't bolt the room when staying at a stranger's place or try to bar the door with something if it didn't bolt from inside for some reason should be out of character. She started taking a shower without waiting for the towels and didn't bolt the bathroom door, basically giving a stranger an invitation to come inside the bathroom while she was taking a shower. It didn't matter how much of a gentleman Scott was, he was showing unusual interest in her and she was getting a feeling that he was dangerous. The most unbelievable thing was for her to sleep naked in a stranger's house in an unlocked room and for her not to keep her backpack (her only belonging) close to her in her bed. I stopped reading after that. I found Scott and Ian's behaviour a bit disgusting and cringe worthy. They were supposed to be SEALs and it felt like they were taking liberty with Terrance. Scott's inner dialogue only made things worse. Everything felt wrong.
🎧 I am not hundred percent sure about Aiden Snow. I think at least for this book I got so creeped out that I didn't like him by extension.

Fabulous book
Read the books but when I seen the audible books I wanted to hear there voices to see if they were the same as I imagined them. Didn’t disappoint at all.

Enjoyable Read
I'm enjoying reading this series of books. The books are predictable but aren't all romance novels? It's easy listen to and the narrator's voice is nice. My only bug bear is that the narrator keeps calling 'my heart' mo cry but it's pronounced mo cree (spelt mo croi).

Do men really think like this family?
The hero in this story is one of a number of brothers who come across as irresponsible teenagers who consider women as toys for them to play with. And these ‘men’ are meant to be SEALS! Really cringe worthy dialogue and so many clichés.
I will not be getting the next in the series

Long winded
I remember loving the book when I read it but the narrator makes this story drag. It improves when speeded up. I also find on relistening that I get very angry at the way I. Which Jake and family are quite happy to steal her liberty, lie to her and deceive her, even about having been pregnant. I don’t care why it was done! The ends never justify the means. And. Especially considering what Gavin did to her in the first place. I walk away feeling personally uncomfortable about this whole story. 🤷🏼♀️

Enjoyed it
I just loved it. There was a story, action, romance and a HEA. What more can you want if you want escape and dream away listening. Ok it was a little predictable but so what. Thank you Abbie Zanders.
