You really do feel the cold and lethargy in this book as the narration is very slow and tired-sounding. The initial plane crash is quite harrowing and if you are phobic, might be a bit too disturbing.
Overall an OK listen as a doctor and a mysterious man who may or may not be the enemy, evade others on a remote island.

Would you listen to Darkness again? Why?
If I had read this book, the voice in my head would not have made the female character sound like such a breathless timid drama queen. The story was good. I liked the fact it was set in Attu where my grandfather was stationed in WWII. The characters were good if one only listened to the words and not the voice inflection of the narrator.

it seemed to drag a little bit. Storyline was predictable. heroin was a little bit whiny.
