Summary
After a car accident killed her parents when she was a child, Bronagh Murphy chose to box herself off from people in an effort to keep herself from future hurt. If she doesn't befriend people, talk to them, or acknowledge them in any way, they leave her alone just like she wants.
When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention. Dominic is used to attention, and when he and his brothers move to Dublin, Ireland, for family business, he gets nothing but attention. Attention from everyone except the beautiful brunette with a sharp tongue.
Dominic wants Bronagh, and the only way he can get to her is by dragging her from the boxed off corner she has herself trapped in the only way he knows how...by force.
Dominic wants her, and what Dominic wants, Dominic gets.

attempt to justify domestic violence and misogyny
I expect some problematic tropes in romance stories but this is the worst one yet. The level of misogyny and attempt to justify domestic violence was over the top. People like "bad boys" but this was just silly. The writing was very repetitive, with every interaction being explained in detail by each character, either because the author thinks that the readers are incapable of understanding the plot, or they had a word count to fill. Either way, awful writing, awful story.

I enjoyed it
I am happy the whole series is available on audible plus. I find the Irish accent that Bronagh speak a little hard to understand but the story itself was interesting. I love Bronagh's character and enjoyed the story.
Update:
I have now finished reading the whole series and enjoyed it emensely, I must say that the accents of all the wife grew on me as i listened each book. The characters are captivating and I absolutely love the steamy love scenes and banter between the characters. A brilliant series. It makes my Audible plus subscription worthwhile.

Hilarious but great story
This is the first nook I have listened to by this author and can’t wait to listen to more, and will definitely be listening to more in this series after all there are 4 more handsome brothers stories to be told. Absolutely well told and the characters were very strong, I absolutely loved Brana or B as she was called her character was hilarious.

Turned out better than expected 👍
TBH, some of the reviews were iffy, but gave this one a try. Not read anything by this author and when I’ve encountered bad reviews before, I’ve personally not found them all justified. It’s all down to personal opinion I think.
Anyway, as a fairly new Audible subscriber, all the narrators have been American, so was really surprised that this one was Irish, but it did make perfect sense as the main character was Irish and it was set in Ireland, so a nice change and well thought out. Sadly, when the characters are English but read by Americans, they all tend to sound faux cockney and sound like Dick Van Dyke in the original Mary Poppins😂
I was really surprised that the book titled ‘Dominic’ was mainly about the girl and read by a woman from her perspective 🤔 so that was a little odd to me.
I will agree with one reviewer who said the story went into far too much irrelevant detail that wasn’t necessary and I have to agree, that was the case in parts. I was also a little annoyed at the weakness of the female lead at times as she was normally so feisty, particularly when ‘Dominic’ called her a slut and was quite offensive and she didn’t call him on this, especially as she reacted to just about everything else he said to her. If it were me that had her temper, he would have found himself picking up his teeth with a broken arm!
Overall, it did get better as it went along and I enjoyed it more and more. There were some really funny and cringey moments, I think everyone can identify with growing up. I did like the characters but Dominic was a bit of a wanker at times.
An easy listen and enjoyable for the most part but I’m glad it was free with my subscription.
I am going to listen to a couple of the others now that are in this series, they are also included, so if they suck I won’t feel too bad.
Worth a listen, not terrible. I’ve read/listened to far worse😁

Conflicted- Funny but questionable toxic relations
Good bit of fun listening not to be taken too seriously. Typical in format but unique comedy and interactions between characters.
some sketchy characters and questionable relationships, but some great one liners.

Misogyny at its finest
Horrible horrible book. Celebration of misogyny and men trampling women’s boundaries by being ‘charming’. An MRA handbook.
