Publisher's Summary

The number one best seller
From the queen of book club fiction
She was a daughter, a wife, a mother. She was my friend. But what secrets did Eloise take to her grave?
After her best friend Eloise dies from breast cancer, Cathy is devastated. But then Cathy begins to have disturbing dreams that imply Eloise's death was not all it seems.
With a history of depression, Cathy is only just recovering from a nervous breakdown and her husband Chris, a psychiatrist, is acutely aware of his wife's mental frailty. When Cathy tells Chris of her suspicions about Eloise's death, as well as her ability to sense Eloise's spirit, Chris thinks she is losing her grip on reality once again.
Stung by her husband's scepticism, Cathy decides to explore Eloise's mysterious past, putting herself in danger as she finds herself drawn ever deeper into her friend's great - and tragic - secret.
Addicting and incredibly haunting, this is the worldwide best-selling novel from broadcaster, journalist and Book Club champion, Judy Finnigan.

It started really well. It had the potential to be completely gripping. However, the dynamics between the characters did not ring true. I was increasingly frustrated, seeing the ending coming but hoping against hope it would not be so.

The supernatural element did not ring true either. No self respecting ghost, taking the trouble to stick around that much, would be that criptic. It sent me up the wall.

On the plus side, it was superbly written by a woman who, I wuld say, is no stranger to heartbreak and emotional harship. That analysis was superb. Reader too.

Loved it

This the 1st book written by Judy Finnican, after hearing an interview on the radio I thought I would give it a listen. The book is engaging right from the beginning. It is well written and I could relate to the main character very quickly. The book is set in Cornwall, a place I have never been but the description of the area really made me want to visit soon.

Well done Judy really enjoyed your 1st book, can't wait for the next.
