LOVE this series!

I am really enjoying reading this powerful interpretation of our country's struggles with the war between the states! It has given a behind scenes perception of life for white and black people during that terrible time in history. Some of it is really hard to understand because of the senseless killings of the black people! I'm really enjoying the wonderful love stories mixed in with the history.

Depressing..

I didn't like the story line without an uplifting subplot. Me thinks there is an agenda here that supersedes history
