Summary

Marcus Sinclair, sixteenth Earl of Sinclair, has lived the last thirteen years as a recluse, following an accident that left him heavily scarred. Though a recluse, Marcus has still managed to fall in love. The problem? The woman he's taken with is none other than the sister of the lady he was once betrothed to! Emma Green has fancied herself in love with Marcus since she was barely out of leading strings and he taught her how to fish. Neither her sister's engagement to him, nor the accident that left him disfigured has altered those feelings. But that matters naught. Why would he ever be interested in the younger sister of the lady who ruined his life?

It's truly awful

I made a mistake and got this book based on the overall star ratings rather than by reading the reviews. The writing is ridiculously bad. The heroine spends the majority of the book running around in just a nightgown or chemise, or even nearly naked. It's completely ridiculous and isn't necessary to the story at all! There are so many parts to this book that just left me scratching my head. I'm willing to suspend disbelief and don't need 100% historical accuracy, but half the things going on in this book wouldn't even be normal today. Who on earth would go fishing in their underwear? There are just too many bizarre things about this book for it to work. Trust me, and skip this one.

As far as the audio goes, the performance is actually OK. I would give Stevie Zimmerman another try on a different author.
