Summary

What happens when the very gods depend on mortals for help? That's what three very different young women find out when they are invited to Warrior's Peak.

The Malory Price Life Plan does not include a quixotic quest - but the strangers on Warrior's Peak claim that she must find a key that will release three souls held captive by an evil god.

Little does she know that the quest will bring her two new friends: the love of her life - and danger beyond anyone's imagination.

Still loving this even after the third read.

I was introduced to this trilogy by a friend a few years a go and have already read it twice through however did not realise I’d never reviewed it so decided to do a reread so I could review it.

This trilogy is about 3 women who are given a quest to find the three keys that will free the daughters of glass souls from a locked box. The three women happen to look like the three daughters. The three daughters are half goddesses who have had there souls trapped in the box by cane the eval saucerer who wants to bring disruption to the world as he does not believe that gods should marry mortals.

The three women Malory, Dana and Zoe are three women who live in the town of pleasant valley however even though it’s a small town they’ve never met until there all sent a strange invite to a party at warriors peak a big house in the mountains. They meat pit and Roina an ensentrick rich couple who tell them of the quest. Although the three women don’t really believe the story the offer of 25,000 dollars given there all either close to being or are unemployed and the promise of 1,000,000 if they complete the quest convinces them to accept. When they find the 25,000 in there accounts the next day they start to believe there might be something in the story.

The first of the women to start the search is Malory price, she is currently struggling within her job at the gallery she manages where she organises showings and collects grate pieces that the gallery sells, however the manager has recently married and his wife wants to take an active roll however herself and Mallory don’t see eye to eye. Mallory is the most sceptical of the three women and is very set in her ways. As she goes on the quest and starts the search she meats Flynn Dana’s brother and they start to develop feelings for each other as he starts to help the three women with the quest. During the quest the three women decide to start a business together and Flynn’s best friends Jordan Hawk and Bradley Vane who have paintings similar to the one they all saw at Warriors peak are also drawn into the quest.

I love the Journey that Mallory goes on to find herself and the story is fun to listen to and really suspenseful in parts. Looking forward to reading Dana’s and Zoe’s stories.

One criticism only

As a Brit used to Irish, Welsh and Scottish accents, it was excruciating to listen to the mangling of accents for the Pitt and Rowena characters.
Better not to assign accents if you can’t do them reasonably well.

Otherwise narrator was good. Well paced, well emoted. Thank you.

good start of another trilogy by nora roberts.

Where does Key of Light rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

at the moment it is on par with her other romantic trilogies.

What other book might you compare Key of Light to, and why?

one of her other trilogies dealing with celtic myths. so far this one is good but it really depends on the third book. I have found the first two books are really good but the third part can be a bit of a let down.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I think she narrates all of nora Roberts books and does a good job of performing it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

it held my attention all the way through but you can't listen to a 10 hours book in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

nora Roberts is a very good writer with good characterisation and plot which holds your attention and keeps it there. the only reason I have given it a four star rating is that personally I don't like explicit descriptions of intercourse. in some cases you can't fast play through these scenarios as you could miss something important to the story. also in these scenarios the sex is always fantastic..

Always a great story

I love hearing Noras words come to life and not just in my head. My only commet is that here in Ireland I would pronounce pitte as Pete, not pit.

Hope this helps for the future. Maybe get a person from Ireland to help with the names. Nora puts lots of Irish in her books so good luck xxx

Very enjoyable listen

Good, entertaining story and well read. I found it funny and genuinely looked forward to each new chapter. Would thoroughly recommend it. I only gave 4* to the performance though as I found some of the Irish/Welsh/weird hybrid accents a bit grating
