What starts as an awful wedding night celebration leading to a divorce for Grace, turns into a gentle, lengthy foreplay with Bryant LaClaire, her boss and a consummate player with full heartbreak potential. Grace, suffering from a lack of confidence and the inability to see herself clearly, doesn't stand an chance against her attraction to Bryant, except he doesn't stand a chance either. Sex is only the beginning. Both have issues that they need to work through before they can give each other a chance.
To be honest, there isn't anything really unique about this billionaire romance. It is pure escapism and it meets the readers expectations for this genre. It has its two protagonists who the reader cannot help but like, a steady build-up, a lot of problems and challenges, and then the HEA. Overall, it is satisfactory.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
Enjoyable, predictable read following Grace, who after marrying her friend discovers that it takes more than friendship to make sparks fly in the bedroom. After her first sexual encounter leaves her letdown, embarrassed and divorce she decides a change of scenery is in order and takes a 6 week job on a cruise ship as a masseuse. Here she learns that she is not quite the failure in bed that she was led to believe, sparks fly when she meets the ships owner Bryant LeClaire. Neither Grace nor Bryant are looking for more than a hook up, but as we know, things never seem to go as planned. Both Bryant and Grace are dealing with demons from their past, Grace especially deals well with an overbearing mother and a complete loser of an ex husband. As usual Tracy Marks does an admiral job of narrating both male and female points of view. I received an audio copy of this book via Audiobook Boom in exchange for an honest review.
What did you love best about LaClaire Nights?
I like how Bryant grew as a man and as a person.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Grace, she picked herself up after her devastation and went on to heal her wounds and find out she is strong and beautiful.
What about Tracy Marks’s performance did you like?
Tracy was very good. I would be happy to listen to one of her performances again.
Any additional comments?

This would have been a much better experience if there was a different narrator. From the beginning and all the way through the entire book the narrator was whiny, breathy and adding some sort of sound to the end of every other sentence. I had to speed up the reading time to get through it. Other people really like this narrator, but she hurt my brain.
