Channing Kinkaid itches for a change; a wild western adventure with an untamed man. Determined to shed her inhibitions and embrace the steamier, seamier side of life, she sets her sights on hooking up with a real chaps-and-spurs-wearing cowboy. Enter Colby McKay - bull rider, saddle bronc buster and calf roper. From the moment he sets lust-filled eyes on the sweet and fiery Channing, he knows he's found the woman who's up to the challenge of cutting loose. What rough and rowdy cowboy could resist a no-holds-barred sexual romp with a sassy young thing starring as his personal buckle bunny?
Intrigued by Channing's bold proposition of horsing around on the road, Colby impulsively sweetens the deal; sexual escapades not only in his bed, but in the bedrolls of his rodeo traveling partners, Trevor and Edgard. Although Channing's secretly longed to be the sole focus of more than one man's passions, Colby's demand for complete submission behind closed doors will test her willful nature. Can Channing give up total control? Especially when not all is as it seems with the sexy trio? Or will the cowboys have to break out the bullropes and piggin' string to break in this headstrong filly?

Slapping my Ears to put the Fire Out, It's So Hot!

I've got my Ropes, Spurs and Hat out plus just packed my Saddle bags, so I'm ready for action.... And Boy did i get it with this book. I really, really like this series.
At the start of this book Channing has basically run away from the pre-planned life that her parents have set up for her. Channing’s idea of adventure is chasing the rodeo and it turns out that Channing’s first traveling partner is a slime ball. Enter our white knight, Colby McKay and his traveling partner’s Trevor Glanzer and Edgar Mancuso. Colby offer’s Channing the adventure that she’s been looking for and Channing, how is completely attracted to Colby, can’t help but jump at the chance.
What really attracted me to this book was that everything wasn’t what it seemed with a couple of the characters. That and Colby McKay is a total Alpha male with a practically insatiable sexual appetite. As the 4 amigo’s roll along everyone learns a little something about each other. Which as the story progresses makes things very interesting.
Sexually, pretty much anything goes in Long Hard Ride. At times Colby was a little bit TO Alpha for me but it seems that just when I wanted to write him off as an ass he did something to redeem himself to me. I will say this, it does get very wild. Lot's of 3 male on female action so if loads of - every way you can do it Sex is not for you best stay away....

Sure ain't no John Wayne!!!
What made the experience of listening to Long Hard Ride the most enjoyable?
Lorelai James is an extremely talented writer. Beware as the content is quite strong!!! Being that the case, her ability to portray feelings, hurt, anger, passion and love is surreal. I think that she may just be my favourite author about now because she can really deliver!!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
It's hard for me to choose because I also enjoyed the secondary characters. I can see the way she introduced them that eventually we will be hearing their story but it's just so well done. There are many, many, characters in this book and they are all relevant and just as important as the others. There is a perfect balance of character development, situation building, evenly paced and expertly presented. This series promises entertainment for a long time.
Which scene was your favorite?
In this first book, Colby, obviously, but no doubt that Trevor and Edgard will later on capture my heart too. In fact all the Mackays in one form or another will no doubt leave me breathless.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes I did in that, although the content was "strong" for me, it was so incredibly well written and the importance of the lives of the characters was just as elevated as the "steamy" side of the story that I laughed, cried, sighed and thought a lot...

I think that given the chance this book will apeal to many people because even if you don't want to say you enjoyed it, you have no choice but to admit it! I loved it. Can't wait to start book 2. One more thing, REBECCA ESTRELLA did an amazing job of the narration! I think she must be Southern, or a bit of a Cowgirl herself cause she's just too good at it. I wouldn't really know being a Spaniard born and bred in London, but you'll know what I mean when you listen to her. She did an awesome job of it!!!
