Would you consider the audio edition of Love in the Afternoon to be better than the print version?
I like them both equally. I only buy the audible books when I don't have time to just sit and read the book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Love in the Afternoon?
There were so many memorable moments in this book and so many comical moments. Although, for me, it wasn't the funny moment's that most stood out. It was the moment when Beatrix and Phelan meet in the woods for the first time after his return from the war (Phelan insults Beatrix hedgehog). I could feel Bea's pain and realization that he had no idea who she was and still didn't like her or that she had been the person who wrote him that it was their love that had developed.
What does Rosalyn Landor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Beatrix and Captian Phelan's story was my favorite of the Hathaway siblings and that is saying something because I loved them all!
However, Bea's story was so much more interesting and deeper as their love story was unlikely because one; they weren't fond of each other, Two they were miles away and Phelan was in the midst of war, three love only developed through the art of writing letters and a bit of unintentional deception which, was a worrying way to start.
Any additional comments?
Lisa Kleypas is a wonderful author on her own I have read her books and listened to them repeatedly.
Great story & characters. This family is one of the best to listen too, there fun, intelligent, open minded and honest. Always enjoy listening to any of this series. Abridged version was great, full and interesting from start to finish. Narration great too.
