Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of Mad by Chloe Esposito, read by Emily Atack.
There's something you should know before we go any further: my heart is in the wrong place. Now, don't say I didn't warn you....
Perhaps that's why nothing in Alvie's life has ever gone right. Until now. She can finally abandon her credit card debt - and her fruitless three-way with Tinder and Twitter - when fate gives her the chance to steal her identical twin's perfect life. It's just a shame Beth had to die to make Alvie's dreams come true.
So begin seven days of sex, violence and unapologetic selfies - one wild week that sees Alvie break every rule in the book. She never did have much respect for boundaries. It might be madness, but rules are meant to be broken. Right?
Mad is the first in the sexy, shocking and compulsively listenable Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know trilogy and the beginning of a roller-coaster ride that those still alive at the end will never forget.

I'll be a lost Audible soul until Bad is released!

Would you listen to Mad again? Why?

I absolutely would. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm not sure what I would call this genre, I was looking for a holiday read but this book has become a firm favourite. It demonstrated every persons inner psychopath...perhaps not on the same scale as Alvi!! I honestly could visualise every minute of this book, and would love for it to become a film.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I adored Alvina, her ability to slip in and out of the portrayal of her sister would incredible. It was great to see these psychotic attributes in a leading female - Alvi having played a particularly MAD and BAD character - a character that in my choice of books is usually played by a man.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Awful, I wanted to tear my hair out

I think I may be too sane or too old to have read this book. It definitely did not appeal to me. Most of the time you wish for the antagonist to meet a horrible accident or to be killed in a brutal fashion. But mostly the author's over emphasis on inner monologue becomes grating to the point it gives you a headache.

The story is over the top involving murder plots, psychopaths, sex and the mafia and completely implausible. And it all surrounds a psychopathic twin called Alvina. It's like reading a long drawn episode of Sunset Beach - beyond ridiculous and just irritating to the extreme. I persevered until the end but suffice to say I won't be reading this author's books again.
