It's 1884, and 14-year-old Sunday Small has been in the Nuneaton workhouse since she was abandoned at birth. The regime is cruel, and if it were not for her dear little friend Daisy, Sunday's life would barely be worth living. A truly heart warming listen

Despite the story being a little predictable in places, this was a huge joy to listen to. The narration was first class, I will be finding more books narrated by her. Highly recommended escapism.

Predictable

Regrettably not the best of books, rather predictable right from the start and morose. I have read many authors who write in a similar period and themes, and they have been much more interesting. I had to finish the book, always thinking it might get better, it didn't and the ending fizzled out.
