Summary

There are new people on the Green... When old Admiral Trigg and his sister Lucy died, their house - Tullivers - stood empty for many months. Then one bright April day, some discreet onlookers saw a good-looking woman pushing her way through the nettles to the front door. Who was she? Was she on her own? Had she bought the house, and, if so, what kind of a neighbour would she be?

Nice and Easy Cozy mysteries

A quaint English cosy mystery. I just love them. Enough character development to make it interesting.

The News

Fed up with the news? Want a change from the pressure of modern life? Then this is the book for you.

Escape to the countryside and the unfolding seasons. You will watch the lives of her characters develop and be amazed how much you come to care about them. Oh, and Gwen Watford (Dolly Bantry in Miss Marple) reads it beautiful.

Thrush Green at its best

I enjoyed this book very much, it is a very long time since I read any Thrush Green books. The book is well read by Gwen Watford and the book is entertaining with well drawn characters.

Simply flawless.

I have discovered Miss Read's novels only very recently but I am in awe of the beauty and depth of her writing. The Thrush Green novels especially take me to a magical place and I almost feel like one of the inhabitants of the village. Most recommended!

Fairacre or Thrush Green

I can never make up my mind which of the two village series I prefer, I think I’ll call it a draw. I’ve loved the Miss Read books for years and to find them on Audible narrated by such talented people, what a bonus!
