Book 2 in the Real Dirty Duet series concludes the story of country music star Boone Thrasher and bar owner Ripley Fisher. We get the answer to our questions from book 1, along with some unexpected insight into Ripley's broken family. Written in dual POV I loved the story and again the characters, I loved Boon's never give up attitude and Ripley's quiet strength. The whole meet the family thing turns into quite the event, not at all what I was expecting, but hey ho, it worked in my heroin's favour. A little excitement, a little romance, a few WTFs, oh and not forgetting her love of writing super sexy alpha males (and with that comes the hot sex), and we have another winner from Meghan March. Again the perfect narration. Love Sebastian York, but got to say Elena Wolfe is his perfect side kick, I also love the way she nails any male perspectives, my favourite female narrator, I could listen to her voice all day. Loved it.
There's absolutely no hesitation when it comes to rating and reviewing a Meghan March book.. especially one that's narrated by Elena Wolfe and Sebastian York whose voices bring to life the varied characters, the desired feels and the myriad of moods that can be found in this talented Author's work. And this Duet is 5 star perfection all the way because you can rest easy and know your emotions are in safe hands.. yes, she's going to shake them about, but it's done in the most delicious and toe curling ways.
In this dual POV Duet you don't just get a sexy hot romance with humor and heat between a sassy stubborn overworked Bartender who hates all things 'celebrity' and Country music's cocky, hot as Hell Golden Boy who now sees that he dodged a bullet when his bitchy ex girlfriend suddenly married someone else. You get mystery, danger, a bitter-sweet revelation, a bad mouthed parrot and drama too. Boone and Ripley frustrate each other as much as they excite one another and, when the flirtatious push/pull banter and sexual chemistry between these two characters finally leads to more, it leaves a couple who respect each other, work well together and who seemlessly fit into one another's lives. The drama and angst came from other sources.. from an unsolved double murder, from a bird kidnapping, from exes who didn't want to stay that way and from paparazzi headlines. Boone is a dirty talking, sweet, dominant, sexy alpha and Ripley is a down-to-earth, level headed, no bullpoop kinda woman and she can more than handle Boone.. both in and out the bedroom.
Worth a credit? Yes definitely - this Duet was such a delicious delight and Meghan March is an auto download for me.
