Two words: TANTRIC YOGA. Enough said.
Wow. What a sexy listen. Sacred Serenity is the second book in the Lotus House series. It follows the next door neighbour/friend/"sister from another mister" of Genevieve Harper from book 1. I enjoyed both books in this series. You don't need to have read the first book to enjoy this installment, but there are certainly spoilers in book 2 that would detract from the enjoyment of the first book if read out of order.
Both narrators provided a solid 4-star performance. Daxton Shade was a new narrator for me. I thought he sounded a bit old as Dash, but his overall performance was good. I would have preferred Jacob Morgan to narrate book 2 as well, but alas it was not to be. Caitlin Elizabeth breathed life into our heroine, Amber and her voicing of male characters made the dialog easy to follow.
Of this series, this is my favourite book. Dash as a handsome, tanned, toned, California yogi makes for a desirable male lead. But hey, this guy is the TANTRIC yoga instructor. Plus, his demonstration partner for the couples class is a virgin. To say this story was rife with sexual tension and off-the-charts chemistry is an understatement.
The premise behind Amber's chastity is religion - more specifically Catholicism. There is a lot of "God talk" in this book. Amber comes off quite preachy, but her character's debate between religion, marriage, and sexuality rings true.
There is also an interesting sub-plot in this book regarding Amber's paternity since her mother died after childbirth without divulging the identity of her father. I wish Audrey Carlan had added more of this secondary story. The glimpses she provided throughout the novel sometimes seemed to be included as afterthoughts.
Overall, worth my listening credit.
