Summary
In seaside Blueberry Cove, Maine, friends are just another word for family, and big-city politics take a backseat to local pride. But the real treasure on these shores is always love....
When DC lawyer Hannah McCrae heads home for her brother's wedding, she's dragging a lot of baggage along with her - and she doesn't mean suitcases. Betrayed personally and humiliated professionally, the last thing she wants is a new man. That's fine with square-jawed, rugged contractor Calder Blue. He and Hannah may be wildly attracted to one another, but all he wants is to build the town's hotly contested new yacht club and mend a centuries-old family feud. Yet thanks to resentments old and new, day after day the pair wind up tangled in each other's business - and maybe soon in each other's arms. Every bride needs something "blue"....

Light reading
There wasn't anything remarkable about this story, but it was enjoyable enough. The characters had a bit of depth and the plot moved along at a decent pace. At times it wasn't very believable (I seriously doubt such a small town would have such an extensive infrastructure and I highly doubt being mayor of a town of 300 would be a stepping stone for an aspiring politician- but I suppose that's why it is called fiction). So all in all, this book makes for a nice holiday read or a bit of light fun. The narration was fine.

Not for me
The story was predictable but okay.
The sex scenes put me off. Too much detail yet I’m aware writers are encouraged to put this in their books.
Lacks substance and depth.

Okay as a 1 time listen
The 1st 7 chapters nothing much happens except for a car crash & the main character's endless ruminations and angst about her cheating married boyfriend & boring long conversations & descriptions. Then the ruminations are about the man she crashed her car into and how attractive he is. It lacks substance, she barely knew the man (not a clean listen either).I enjoyed the sisters re-uniting for the wedding with light moments of comedy & after 8 chapters finally a mystery needs to be solved before the wedding which makes things more interesting.Narration wasn't great, book did drag on for quite a bit longer than it needed to ,especially at the beginning so much so that I'd recommend starting at chapter 7 if you really wanted to listen to this one. Glad it was included for free, would have been disappointed wasting a credit on it.
