Not a great narrator choice, sorry Carmen Rose!

I can only describe the narration as mechanically melodic. No charisma behind the words. The story was ok - however the character develoment could have been better. There were missed opportunities too with the storyline. I recommend listening to something else.

Wonderful.

This was my second listen of this and it was as good as the first. A lovely tale obout two women who fall in love but they must put themselves first now because, after all, the age gap is just a number.

Enjoyable May/December lesbian romance

What did you like most about Seasons of Love?

I've read this book before and enjoyed it as a good, easy read with likeable characters and a lovely May/December romance. I was interested to see how it would work with the addition of audio.

What other book might you compare Seasons of Love to, and why?

Harper Bliss's several other May/December romances. I enjoy the genre!

What about Carmen Rose’s performance did you like?

I wasn't sure initially because the accent for both lead characters was different from what I had imagined from reading the book beforehand. And that's the tricky part as what we imagine will be different for everyone. However I thought she did a great job overall. She certainly captured the nuances, the emotions and impact the storyline had on the characters and it definitely added an additional positivity to the read.

Any additional comments?

An enjoyable lesbian fiction romance enhanced by audio!

Easy listen

Could have been more erotic but still good and easy to follow, the narrator did well at differentiating the characters though

Brilliant

Loved this book, it was great how straight laced Alice was taken right out of her comfort zone.
Joy is so entertaining and brings a completely entertaining and frustrating Alice.

Different take on f/f relationship

Most f/f novels feature twenty something couples. There are a few that don't, and this one focus on a f/f relationship where there is a large age gap between the two woman. There are many of insights in the book that relating this difficulty and how it affects them getting together. The problem is aggravated by the fact that Alice has fallen for the young Joy, who happens to be the daughter of Alice's business partner and friend.

On the basis of above that's why I give it such a high rating. There are a couple of things which means I didn't score it all five. First, in places the dialogue is not natural and almost narrative. Second, is some sentences should have ended before they did. Meaning, extra information is tagged on which is not needed, since its already stated, or obvious. And last, the narration is very formative, it does fit with Alice's character, but I would have prefered the narrator to be more natural, and less lawyer like. So, please listen to a sample first. These points are minor, but I make them just on the basis of the writer, or narrator considering them, rather then discouraging someone purchasing the audiobook. It's well worth a listen!
