Summary

It's been seven years since Lexi Knight lost her brother in a tragic accident. On the anniversary of his death, her brother's best friend shows up unexpectedly - a man she hasn't seen since the funeral. He is no longer the boy Lexi once knew, but a dangerous-looking man with tattoos and dark secrets. He broke her trust and abandoned her family, yet what he reveals makes it impossible to stay angry.

Lexi has been secretly infatuated with Austin since childhood, so finding out he's a Shifter just makes him sexier. Dammit. Austin Cole has returned to the city where he grew up, and just in time. He's lived a hard life these past seven years, and the shadows of his past are threatening to destroy Lexi's family. It's time that she learned the truth about her brother, but there is a shocking twist that Austin never saw coming. Now he must protect her family when her mother and sister wind up in mortal danger. Will Lexi learn to accept the truth about who he is, and can Austin salvage a relationship from the ruins of their past?

Well worth the credit

I'm new to this author but I enjoyed it so much I'll try more of her books .
I also thought the narrators voice was interesting and totally non intrusive . I'll keep her in mind for future choices.

Not a bad book but ...

This book has some great characteristics and an enjoyable storyline BUT the main character, Lexi, is as dumb as a box of frogs. As is her work colleague. The narrator has a lovely voice but not so great at some of the character voices.

Shifter world

What does Nicole Poole bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Good range of voices to denote the characters

Any additional comments?

Lexi is just a regular woman that we can all identify, that is, until Austin walks back into her life. Not only does she find out that he’s a shifter but she also finds that she is. With the mystery of her parentage and various other catastrophes that she keeps falling into this story will get you hooked right to the end.
As shifter books goes, this is a full bodied one, and by that I mean the author has created a whole world with plenty of characters and each one has the potential to be a lead in the next book. It is a very exciting series to sink your teeth in.

Move over Twilight saga!

If you could sum up Seven Years in three words, what would they be?

Exciting, stimulating and funny.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Who wasn't would be a better question.

What does Nicole Poole bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A voice to the character.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes many times..

Any additional comments?

The book should be made into a movie. Loved it! Just started book 2 which looks at two different characters in depth. Let you know how I get on. X

Okay-ish

This book was a bit of a mix for me. There were some parts I really enjoyed, but there were also parts that just really dragged. I also found the main female character quite annoying.
The narrator did a good job and I would happily listen to another book narrated by her.

Seven Years

Worth a listen, nice narrator, nothing jarring in her tone, but lacking a little in the atmosphere of dramatic scenes. I enjoyed the story although there was quite a lot of unnecessary filler to the story which could have been better used to develop the characters and their emotions which were skimmed over. Overall the book left me unmoved by what should have been an emotional rollercoaster.

Brilliant new series

If you could sum up Seven Years in three words, what would they be?

new twilight saga

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved all the characters, they are in depth without being whiny and repetitive in their descriptions.

Which character – as performed by Nicole Poole – was your favourite?

Nicole Poole is fab. At first I thought 'wow, is she going t try and do all the voices different?' after a whiole you forget its even one person narrating the book.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I couldn't wait to keep listening, I got this book to help me settle to sleep at night and instead I ended up listening to it all the time!

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to keep reading the others in the series. Will be interesting to see if Nicole can keep up with all the different characters and do the same voices. Another fab series to hopefully get my teeth into and enjoy. I love my physical books, but have to say so far this is converting me into also being able to enjoy the world of audiobooks too!
