Summary

Renegade sea captain Ryan Coleraine is persuaded to accompany the adventurous Raveneau family to Regency London to spy for America during the War of 1812. The sardonic Coleraine must take the place of their son, who is in the West Indies, and pretend to be a fop. Lindsay Raveneau, a beautiful and independent bluestocking, finds herself with a "brother" who challenges and arouses her in the most unsettling ways...
Danger, intrigue, and forbidden passion mount as Ryan and Lindsay carry their daring masquerade to the elegant drawing rooms of Regency society. Adding to the tensions are Lindsay's parents - Andre and Devon Raveneau from Silver Storm - who must attempt to chaperone their daughter and her " brother" under their own roof!

Emotional, Exciting, Wonderful.

Where does Surrender the Stars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This audio book ranks highly as do all the audio books I have of Cynthia Wright's that are narrated by Emily Beresford. Author and Narrator make the perfect team because Cynthia writes the perfect story, and Emily puts the voices to the characters that really brings them to life. It was a real pleasure to listen to this story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Surrender the Stars?

One of the most memorable moments for me is when Ryan and Lindsey share their first kiss. There are many memorable moments in the book, but to say anymore would be to give too many spoilers.

Have you listened to any of Emily Beresford’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have only listened to Emily's narrations of Cynthia Wright's books. Each of them as I mentioned before are perfect. Emily is definitely one of my favourite female narrators.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to have listened to this book in one sitting but as it is over 10 hours long, there is no way I could have done it. I listened to it over 3 nights and the two nights that I had to turn it off I really didn't want to.

Any additional comments?

I recommend this audio book, a wonderful story, beautifully and clearly narrated, and a pleasure to listen to.

I LOVE The Raveneau Novels! Fabulous!

What made the experience of listening to Surrender the Stars the most enjoyable?

What made Surrender the Stars most enjoyable for me was the way the story was continued. It was perfect. It went in the right direction and I really want to continue with this series. This is a genuinely delightful story.

What other book might you compare Surrender the Stars to and why?

Considering that I'm new to the historical romance genre, I don't know what I would compare it to. I'm very pleased to be introduced by Cynthia Wright into this genre with such a great start.

Which scene was your favorite?

All of the scenes were my favorite. I take in the story as a whole. I love the setting, the characters, and the adventure. I especially love the dialogue. The characters are all so individualized and so well rounded.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The romance between Lindsay and Ryan is so dynamic. It takes me back to that place and time in history and into the lives of these people that I have come to love. Ohhh, I just love this story.

Any additional comments?

Emily Beresford is such a wonderful voice actor. After listening to Silver Storm and Surrender the Stars, she has become one of my favorite narrators. She is amazing.I received this audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

Another great Raveneau family story

I loved Ryan & Lindsay's story. Following the Raveneau family tradition of passion, danger and spy intrigue adventure makes for many hours of enjoyable listening.
The narrator did a nice job of all the different voices, men and women alike. Cynthia Wright weaves historical figures of the time into the story delivering a delightful surprise that enhances the fictional characters' roles. Highly recommended!!
