Summary

Author Callie Logan never expected to swap her life in London for one in rural Suffolk but, after the breakdown of her marriage, she decides that a fresh start is just what she needs. Finding Owl Cottage in the tiny village of Newton St. Clare, Callie determines to give up on love and throw herself into her work. But fate seems to have other ideas and she soon has two very different men vying for her attention.

First there's Leo, who likes to live on the wild side, which usually means taking his dates foraging in the local woods for their supper. Then there's bookshop owner Sam. Recovering from a divorce, Sam has also vowed to embrace the single life. That is, until he meets Callie.

But is Callie willing to risk her heart again and, if she is, will she make the right choice?

Charming and Captivating

If you could sum up The Book Lovers in three words, what would they be?

Light, Feel-good, Easy-listening

What does Jan Cramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She was the sort of narrator that you know is good because you don't really notice them while you're listening.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely, I would listen in the car driving backwards and forwards to work and would often wish I could stay sitting in the car all day to hear the next bit!

Light hearted intrigue.

Tantalizingly, will they or won't they! Will she tell Leo? Snippets of humour throughout. Very enjoyable.

Good story

I enjoyed this book, the troubles, the characters and the journey they go on.

There was lots of "he said" and "she said" to describe the dialogue, that got quite tiresome. Maybe reading it would have been a obvious.

The performance of the narrator d good reading the book, a lovely, soft, eloquent voice. Reading the dialogue though she gave emphasis that I didn't enjoy as much.
