Summary
As Christmas approaches, everything seems to be falling into place for Dossie. Her son Clem and his adorable five-year-old son Jakey have moved to Cornwall to be closer to her. She runs her own successful catering business. All she needs now is for the run of bad luck in her romantic life to end. Forming a slightly unconventional family setup with Dossie are the jovial nuns of the local convent and the wonderfully eccentric Janna. With humour, kindness and a deep need of somewhere to belong, they form a tight bond. But will this close-knit unit who so depend on each other still be together next Christmas?

Lovely story
Sweet Christmas story with lots of loveable characters. Sad at times but overall an upbeat tale about the importance of a loving family.

Good story for the Christmas hols
I listened to this over the Christmas holidays and whilst not being set purely at Christmas it was a very fitting book. It is a book which deals with relationships - friendships, love, family. I found that I was finding things to do (including cleaning) to justify listening to it. It is not too meaty but is a good holiday listen.

If your a fan of Marcia Willet, you'll love this.
Would you consider the audio edition of The Christmas Angel to be better than the print version?
As I have not read it in print I really shouldn't comment. I enjoyed the narrated version very much.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The small grandchild was quite endearing in this.
What about Phyllida Nash’s performance did you like?
I like Phyllida's renditions, they seem down to earth and no unnecessary nonsense. The story is important, so a good narrator should blend with it.

Nice
This was a nice story. I would have never have chosen it if it hadn't been in the advent offer but I actually enjoyed it.

An enjoyable, light listen
I actually bought this as part of the advent calendar promotion for just 99p, so didn't have especially high expectations for it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's very easy to listen to, not too cliched and generally quite enjoyable. The narrator is also very good, distinguishing well between the different characters.

A gentle tale evoking images of Cornwall
Despite the start being a little confusing I really warmed to this book. The story is entertaining and kept my interest throughout.

Middle class Christmas?
A warm tale about life in rural Cornwall. I persevered with this book expecting a Christmas miracle. Unfortunately it never really happened. I felt that there should have been some sort of crescendo, I even listened to the last couple of chapters again thinking that I must have missed something. In all, if you you're not looking for anything too exciting, it's an excellent choice! It is well read and for the 'price' I really cannot complain.

Like a month's worth of 'The Archers'
An everyday story of middle class folk living in Cornwall with nuns. Lots of things almost happen, but never quite do. The characters almost have crises, but never quite do. By the end, (sorry to plot-spoil), nothing has changed or actually happened. Still, it was free.

Lovely little Xmas story
Lovely little story, voice actor very good esp dealing with a child. I loved the different strands of the story, the characters all had depth and it wasnt all perfect families, lots of realism. Great Xmas story, will listen again next year.
