A terrific listen

I really enjoyed this book and reading and got caught
up in the characters and plot right away. Moving from
one time to another in the same place works seamlessly
and is always intriguing. Would heartily recommend;
anything by Jonathan Coe is entertaining.

well researched page turner,

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Brings factual reality to life with Narcolepsy. Well crafted, gripping novel. Lyrical language delivered brilliantly on audible. Loved every minute.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All characters were well crafted and realistic. No favourites.

What about Simon Shepherd’s performance did you like?

Understated with the right amount of light and shade. Easy to listen to. Character voices well played without being over dramatic.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, both. I have Narcolepsy. I loved the way Coe linked factual content to fiction creating a believable reality with which I could identify. I almost felt part of this fictional 'world'. I had a profound reaction to much of the content. Listening to this alone, whilst driving, I found myself shouting out at plot twists as they unfolded.

Any additional comments?

Brilliant work of fiction which integrates factual information on sleep disorders. I could see this as a high brow TV Drama.
