Meet the Keeper of Lost Things....

Once a celebrated author of short stories now in his twilight years, Anthony Peardew has spent half his life collecting lost objects, trying to atone for a promise broken many years before.

Realising he is running out of time, he leaves his house and all its lost treasures to his assistant Laura, the one person he can trust to fulfil his legacy and reunite the thousands of objects with their rightful owners.

But the final wishes of the Keeper of Lost Things have unforeseen repercussions which trigger a most serendipitous series of encounters....

And if you loved The Keeper of Lost Things, don't miss Ruth Hogan's second novel The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes, which is out now.

Fine, but didn’t live up to potential

Likes the narration and the story had a lot of potential, but it didn’t really go anywhere.

Sugar and spice fairy tale

A pleasant book to zone out to. cute story, a bit silly at times but also funny too. A nice idea, narrator was 'childlike' but easy to listen to. Chick lit.

Lovely story, thoroughly enjoyable

I was drawn to this book by the title alone and wasn’t disappointed. I look bed the intertwined short stories and the inevitable happy ending. The narrators fitted well with their respective characters & there were also some beautifully descriptive passages. Humour & sadness combine well.

It will grab you

A debut novel from Ruth Hogan
I also listened to this novel via Audible narrated wonderfully by Jane Collingwood and Sandra Duncan.

We follow the story of Laura the assistant to Anthony Peardew, who after losing the love of his life, started to collect lost things. When Anthony leaves this world for another he leaves his house and all the possessions in it to Laura with the condition that she completes his legacy of returning/reuniting the thousands of objects.
This really grabs you, its a truly charming story. With heartbreaking and slightly comical moments within it. With a few different characters thrown in and the way Ruth brings each one and each element alive, even though she is crossing different periods of time is sincerely captivating.
I'm looking forward to Ruth Hogans 2nd novel (The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes) due for release in May. 4⭐

Best book I've read and listened to!

I adored this book. The characters are so lovely - especially Sunshine. The author didn't keep saying she had downs syndrome but the way the character behaves is so accurate. She's an absolute delight. We shall forever more have the lovely cup of tea!!
