Would you consider the audio edition of The Resistance to be better than the print version?
That is the word that came out of me when I finished this story. Dalton, Johnny, Jack, Outlaw, or whatever name you want to call him is a human being first. Then fame happens, and he almost loses himself, but then he met Holliday, our heroine, and he bought himself a get out of hell card. Dalton shows how miserable the life of the rich and famous is. The path of their love is not smooth as it is supposed to be, but we can see how they work hard at it, and came out on top.
This story is kind of surreal for me. It has the same ambiance as rock star stories, but at the same time it is cleaner than most. Dalton did not once cheat on Holls, in fact, he is the one that has insecurities about her. He always was jealous of her friends, especially the male ones.
I love this story because of this rock star. He cuts a romantic figure. I am also so elated that this is a complete book, no cliffhanger and there is a HEA. I will be happy to read about how their life is 5, 10 years down the road later though. Sweet story. I will read books by this author again.
What other book might you compare The Resistance to and why?
Maybe 'Reckless' by SC Stephens.
Which character – as performed by Alexandria Watts – was your favorite?
Dalton of course.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes. Cry in some places. Don't want to say. No spoilers.
