Summary

“In the end, only three things matter. How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” (Unknown)

It was a big lie. The biggest lie she’d ever told. It reverberated through her head as she said it, ringing eerily, and the girl behind her eyes - the girl who knew the truth - screamed, and her scream echoed along with the lie.

“Are you in love with Noah, Mercedes?” Cora asked. “I mean . . . I know you love him. You’ve been friends forever. We all have. But are you in love with him?”

If it had been anyone else - anyone - Mercedes would have stuck out her chest, folded her skinny arms, and let her feelings be known. She would have claimed him. But it was Cora. Brave, beautiful, broken Cora, and Cora loved Noah too.

So Mercedes lied.

And with that lie, she lost him. With that lie, she sealed her fate.

She was the best friend, the bridesmaid, the godmother, the glue. She was there for the good times and the bad, the ups and the downs, the biggest moments and the smallest parts. And she was there when it all came crashing down.

This is the tale of the girl who didn’t get the guy.

5 Beautiful Friendship Stars

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Friendship Stars

Get ready to buckle yourseves in for this one guys it's a feeler!

Gahhh it's beautiful, Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!!!

If you've ever read a book by Amy Harmon you will already know how her books affect you, however, if you haven't, then you are in for a treat, and I guarantee that you will want to binge read everything she's ever written.

This story follows three friends from childhood to adulthood, two of these friends got married to each other, the other friend was always in love with one of them, she was the loser!

Mercedes is the best friend anyone can ever have, she's staunchly protective, brave, kind, beautiful and has a wonderful personality, she's also in love with her best friend Noah.

Noah wants be a doctor when he grows up and loves spending time with his two best friends Mercedes and Cora.

Cora loves her two best friends, she doesn't really know who she wants to be, so when Mercedes wants a kitten Cora gets a cat, when Mercedes says that she wants to be a beautician when she grows up, Cora wants to be one too, when Mercedes takes an interest in Noah, Cora decides to step in.
Mercedes being the kind of girl she is steps aside and lets her best friend marry the man of her dreams.

She's the bridesmaid at the wedding and the godmother of their child and she's also there when their two worlds come crashing down.

With a small cameo from one of Amy's previous books which you do not have to have read, this book keeps you enthralled and wanting to be part of The Three Musketeers.

🎧🎧 Narrated by Almarie Guerra, a new narrator for me did an outstanding job all of the characters had their own voices and I believed every word she said.
I will certainly be looking out for other titles that she has narrated.

Pick up this beautiful story as soon as you can you won't be disappointed!

So much potential - characters ruin it

I love Amy Harmon books so was excited to see a new one was released. It had so much potential to be a 5 star with the quality of writing, but the characters were intolerable to me by the end ..which is obviously a pretty major problem. Without giving away spoilers, a cowardly martyr, mentally unwell woman and a passive man become best friends and a story ensues. They all need a slap upside the head.

This isn’t a love triangle type book by the way - the synopsis made me think there might be pining or affairs between the main characters, but it’s not like that. The bulk of the story takes place when the opportunity for a relationship is now open, with flashbacks to childhood memories.

I’ll definitely carry on buying all the author’s books, I just hope she gives some serious thought to her characters.
